Starting on September 4th, 2004, I'll be heading straight up north into Wisconsin for a couple weeks. My mid-trip checkpoint is my friends' cabin in Pembine, WI on the 10th. Then I'll be back down near Madison for my cousin's wedding on the 18th. In between, I hope to wander around the woods of northeastern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, just absorbing the middle of nowhere.
This trip seems significantly less epic than last year's trip, so I wasn't sure if it was worthy of a real-time journal, but then I figured, what the heck, it can't hurt. Also, one goal of mine is to do less daily mileage than last year's trip and spend more time just relaxing, so writing a bit will give me a way to entertain myself.
